The pope is dead, long live the pope - and I´m very sure it´s going to be Dionigi Tettamanzi, Milan´s archbishop or Carlo Maria Martini, who stepped down as archbishop in the same city.

Following to Expatica, Carlo Maria Martini refused the honor and used his infuence to convince the progressive wing in the conclave to support cardinal Ratzinger. So I wasn't that far off...
